“Everything you own and love eventually falls apart”
Don Williams and Louisa Jaggar, Saving Stuff, 2005 (Senior Conservator at The Smithsonian Museum)

Patinations specialises in the conservation of timber furniture from all periods and styles. A high emphasis is placed on treatments with minimal intervention with a particular focus on traditional methods and sympathetic restoration.

The company’s ethos is aligned with the principles and practices of internationally recognised conservation charters, including the Burra Charter and the codes of practice for the Australian Institute for the Conservation of Cultural Material (AICCM) and the Australian Antique and Art Dealers Association (AAADA).

Patinations performs assessments and also provides quotations for private clients and organisations, government institutions and insurance agencies. An assessment service for the pre-purchase of furniture is also available. Our workshop is purpose built, environmentally controlled, fully insured, highly accessible for transportation and is monitored for security.
