Australian Art Deco Clock Case with Burl Eucalyptus Veneer, circa 1930.

The highly decorative veneer on the case of this mantle clock was originally finished in nitrocellulose lacquer.

As the nickel plated components and silvered dial were badly corroded, the clock was disassembled to facilitate access. The nitrocellulose lacquer was removed and replaced with a traditional French polish. The display clock components were re-plated in nickel and brushed silver.
